The Treetops Park is not a Canopy Zipline Tour. It includes aerial elements that can be mentally and physically challenging for all ages. The seven trails range in height and difficulty. The Treetops Park is “challenge by choice”. The trails range from 12 to 50 feet in the air and, depending on your age, you can choose which trail and at what difficulty you want to challenge yourself.

What are the weight requirements of the Zipline Canopy Tour?

70-250 lbs, Guests may be weighed on arrival as this is an important requirement for our staff and guests

What is the activity level of the Zipline Canopy Tour?

While zipping on the Zipline Canopy Tour is not a strenuous activity, Guests do have to climb the stairs of our zipline tower.  The zip speed of the Guest is manually controlled, therefore every Guest participates in ground school to practice before climbing the tower. Our first three ziplines are designed to be a little slower and shorter than the rest of the lines so that participants can gain confidence before getting on our faster ziplines. Guests must be able to use their arms to steer and slow down the zipline trolley.

Will I be in the trees?
Yes! although our course is in an urban, park like setting, there are many beautiful trees on the course! Most of our platforms are in trees, some over 150 years old! Some of our zips go through the canopy, and some are in the open air! 3 of our platforms are in the “Jenga” tower, which is 54 feet to the top!
What is the highest we will be on the course?
Our highest platform is about six stories high, and our highest zipline is about 70 feet above ground!
How high/long are the ziplines?

Our ziplines range in length from approximately 75’ to 1,200’.  Our two longest ziplines (both of which are tandem zips where Guests zip side by side) are only available on our full-length tour.  The highest point on our course is approximately 65’ above ground.

Yes! Sunglasses usually stay on with the help of a helmet, but a strap will ensure they stay on. Baseball caps work best when they don’t have the button on the top.
Will I zipline over water?

No. This particular course is an urban course on a 125 acre property 1 mile from downtown Asheville. It does offer breathtaking views of the city skyline as well as the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains.

What ages can zip the Canopy Tour?

Ages 8 and over.  Participants must also be between 70 and 250 lbs.  Children under the age of 13 are required to have an adult escort.

Donations

The Adventure Center of Asheville and Wildwater are locally owned and operated. We believe that being a responsible business means giving back to our community. Therefore, we contribute over $75,000 a year to schools, community organizations, at risk populations, healthy living, and green/environmental programs throughout the region.  This includes our annual event in June, Zipping for Autism, in which we have donated over $250,000 since 2013 to family services for autism support in Western North Carolina.

Each year, we receive many donation requests for financial assistance, tickets and merchandise in support of many charitable organizations and schools.  We regret that we cannot approve all requests.  Ineligible donation requests include monetary donations and individual fundraisers.

We accept donation requests for activity passes via the following form four times a year and are glad to review your request at those times.  Current requests will be reviewed after March 31, June 30, September 30 and December 31.   Therefore, all requests in between those time periods must be submitted prior.
