- Closed Toe Shoes are required.
Every participant must be 4 years old and over and weigh less than 225 lbs. and be under 6’2″. Monitor and Escort Rules apply. (See Below)
- Closed Toe Shoes are required.
Our trails are color-coded for beginner, intermediate, and advanced riders. So we suggest that you split your group into those levels when riding and have at least one riding adult with each group. Those adults are free. We do not monitor our trails when they are open.
- Closed Toes Shoes and Helmets are required to be worn while riding
-
All riders must be checked in and paid before riding Kolo Bike Park.
-
The Adventure Center of Asheville, including Kolo Bike Park, does not assume responsibility for riders on the trail system, jump systems, features or pump tracks. Random advanced level features, obstacles, and drops exist throughout the park. Riding is at your own risk and it is understood that changes in park conditions due to weather, other riders, and general use are out of the control of the Adventure Center of Asheville.
Riders age 13 and under or Beginner Riders are required to have an adult (age 18+) on the property. Since riding Kolo is not supervised, we highly recommend that beginners or kids riding Kolo for the first time are escorted on trails by an adult (18+).
Riders aged 14+ are allowed to be dropped off and ride independently without adult supervision.
Drop-Offs – Riders under the age of 16 are NOT allowed to be dropped off and left without adult supervision for more than 3 hours. The Adventure Center of Asheville Welcome Center must be notified when riders are dropped off without immediate transportation options on the property.
Those youth must be able to understand and follow all items mentioned within this agreement and accept responsibility for all items within the agreement along with their parent or guardians.
Trip Times
All of our aerial activities are scheduled with trip times every day the Adventure Center is open. Your trip time is the time that you walk to your activity from our Welcome Center after you have checked in. We start each aerial activity with a ground school (where you learn more about the activity, the equipment, and the safety rules), get geared up, and practice your gear BEFORE you start zipping or climbing. Then the remaining time is for zipping or climbing. For the Kid Zip and Treetops Park, the total trip time is 2 hours. During that time, everyone in your party will climb at least 2 trails on the Treetops Park (or a trail 2 times) or complete the entire KidZip park at least once.
For Kolo Bike Park, your trip time is flexible. However, it must start and end during our regular hours.
Arrival Time
For you and your guests to be ready for your trip time, everyone must arrive at least 20 minutes before the trip time. This will allow time to park, check in to the welcome center with your signed waivers, use the restroom and be ready to start at your trip time.
If you or your guests are late, we will do our best to accommodate. But late arrivals often forfeit their activity. They will miss ground school which is required before any guest participates in any aerial activity. And once activity starts, our staff are very busy working with the guests who were on time. Unfortunately, our aerial activities are not “walk-in” activities, like a park or a trampoline park. Each participant must complete gear up and ground school. Therefore, late arrivals are often not able to join the group.
Ages/Escorts/Monitors
We have a very strict policy for adult escorts and monitors for children for their safety.
Kid Zip: Participants are ages 4-10. Each child who is 4-6 years old, is required to have an adult escort. That is a paying and zipping adult who is under 225 lbs. and under 6’2” for each child that age. For kids age 7 and over, an adult monitor (watching adult) is required. For ages 7 and older, adult escorts are not required but may accompany kids age 7 and over. Older siblings may also zip with younger siblings, but they are not allowed to be “escorts” unless they are 18 years old or older.
Kolo Bike Park: For kids under the age of 13, a 5:1 adult escort is required for trail riding. Pump Tracks, Jump Line, Littleville, and Skills area require an adult monitor.
Treetops Park: Participants are ages 4 and over. Children are required to have adult escorts and monitors. Please see the chart. An adult monitor is a watching adult over the age of 18. An adult escort is a paying/climbing adult over the age is 18 who is under 265 lbs.
Number of Guests
- The Purple Trail Adventure Park Party has a maximum of 10 participants.
- The Treetops Park maximum depends on the availability of the trip time and can range from 10 participants to 30 participants.
- KidZip has a maximum of 8-12 participants depending on the trip time booked.
- Kolo Bike Park usually does not have a maximum number of guests as riders are spread out on over 100 acres.
Watching Guests
You may bring guests like grandparents or parents of your guests to the Birthday Party. They may watch and participate in the picnic area. Do not count them in your guest count.
Picnic/Party Area
We have several areas where you can set up a picnic for cake and snacks! They are all first-come/first-served areas and can be used if open. They include the picnic table area beside the Treetops Park, across from KidZip, and the scattered gazebos throughout the property. You are also welcome to bring picnic blankets and camp chairs and grab your own space on the lawn beside the parking area.
You may use this space before or after your activity. If you use the picnic area before, please be sure to check into the office first with your guests to get armbands and allow plenty of time to be ready for your activity. If you want to use the picnic space after your activity, please keep in mind that we do close after our aerial activities have finished.
Occasionally, groups rent an area of ACA. And often during the winter, our tent is down. But if you see a spot open, you are welcome to use it. Just please be sure to share the larger areas with other guests and to clean up after yourselves.
You are welcome to bring in food and beverages, just not alcohol. And if you need to drive to our back entrance near to tent to load or unload, please let us know.

Weather
For aerial activities, we do plan to start your activity on time RAIN OR SHINE. Regardless of the forecast, we expect you to arrive on time ready to go on your adventure. However, we do monitor the actual radar. If there is lightning within 8 miles of the Adventure Center, we get everyone down to the ground. Then we get everyone back up as soon as possible just as a pool or golf course does. We do operate in rain, wind, snow, sleet, cold, and sunshine! But please know that we are always monitoring the weather conditions.
We do close Kolo if the trails, pump tracks, or jump line are too wet. This is for the safety of the riders and the condition of our park. We suggest a call to the office at 828.225.2921 to check conditions before arrival. And we suggest rain dates, just in case.
Gratuity
Gratuity is optional for our rangers and is not included in your invoice. If you would like to add a gratuity amount to your invoice, please let us know. Or you can drop that off at the office, after your event. It is optional but appreciated by the rangers for going above and beyond.
Waivers
Waivers must be signed BY A LEGAL GUARDIAN and are required for every participant. Once you make a reservation, you will be sent a waiver to share with your group. The name on the waiver is the participant and one waiver per person, please. Please ask everyone to fill out their waivers BEFORE ARRIVAL to save time at check-in.

What Guests of our Asheville Birthday Parties Are Saying…
“We had a blast! I enjoyed it more than I thought as well…I enjoyed climbed on 3 of the courses 🙂 Thank you for the part you played in making this such a fun day for my kiddo’s 13th birthday. In fact, I think it was my favorite one yet!”
“It was great – so glad we booked with you all. We had 9 girls aged 7-11 and two adults and every single one of them had a blast! We were also very appreciative of the COVID-19 policy you had in place which suggested that the unvaccinated mask on the course even though outdoors. My daughter had already missed having a celebration for her 8th birthday due to the pandemic and it was great to be able to go somewhere that we felt was a safe, fun and responsible option and be able to celebrate. The tent was great too – we had some pizza delivered from Pizza Mind which was perfect for after.“
“We had a really wonderful time celebrating our daughter, Avery’s, 6th birthday on the Purple Trail. The kiddos all had different experience levels, but they all had fun together! Thank you to the team of rangers for creating a fun and safe environment. They were so patient with our group of 8 six year olds. We are looking forward to coming back to take on the next level!”
“Asheville Treetops Adventure Park is amazing! What a high quality venue! We just hosted our son’s 8 year birthday, and hoped to find something that would be engaging and allow for COVID protocols… and this was PERFECT. Their varying levels of rope courses allowed our group from 5 years to 10 year old kids to find paths that were perfect for their skill and ability. The ‘rangers’ on site were exceptional and worked very well with the kids to keep them safe and aware of what they needed to do on the course. This was a great day. Great birthday. My wife works in the medical industry and needed to ensure a high level of precautions in light of COVID, and we were highly appreciative to see masks, hand sanitizing, and the ability for distancing. Way to go Asheville Treetops Adventure Park!”
“Christian‘s birthday party this weekend was excellent. The park was so incredibly well run and everyone had an amazing time. Communication was excellent as was the supervision. All of the kids and parents referred to the day as the most epic birthday party they’ve ever attended. Thanks so much for everything.”
