Asheville Treetops Adventure Park

ATAP is a challenge course in the trees that has 77 unique climbing, rolling, walking, jumping, swinging, and rappelling challenges anchored to over 30 trees and towering poles tucked into a wooded park. There are 7 different adventure trails ranging from beginner to challenging levels. There are several elements that are representative of the activities you can do in North Carolina including a sky kayak, a parkway tunnel, a snowboard in the sky, swinging hula hoops, bumper boats and a zip hang glider, all in the trees that make this a “Truly Asheville Adventure.”

We use a new technology called “smart belays” that, when used properly, are designed to assure Park Guests are attached to safety systems at all times and cannot detach from the system until they have completed the aerial trail and are back on the ground. Guests can explore freely knowing the safety system monitors their attachments and is designed to not allow accidental unclipping from the safety points. It is an active adventure that incorporates physical fitness and personal accomplishment.

  • ages 4 and over (trail restrictions for younger ages)
  • escorts and/or monitors needed for younger ages
  • 2 hours of adventure
  • max weight of Guest is 265 lbs.
  • Guests must be able to walk on challenge elements like swinging bridges, climb steps, and balance. While, the beginner trails are not strenuous, they do require the participant to have balance and some flexibility.
 Asheville Zipline Canopy Adentures

Asheville Zipline Canopy Adentures

The Asheville Zipline Canopy Adventure is an urban canopy tour that includes 11 ziplines and 3 sky bridges in treetop platforms on several large adventure towers with mountain and skyline views of Asheville. Jump on the Skyline Express to fly side-by-side with a friend for 1,200 feet. The three sky bridges are opportunities to slow down and look around in our largest trees to learn about the history of the city and the trees.

AZCA offers the best of many worlds. It is convenient to Asheville and exciting. It is urban with views of downtown Asheville. And it is set on a 124-acre resort and designated tree preserve perched in and amongst some of the oldest and largest oak trees in Asheville. Zippers will enjoy scenic mountain views, as well as spectacular views of the Asheville skyline, as they fly through tree-lined corridors.

Team Building Low Ropes Facilitated Programs

ACA offers numerous opportunities for a wide range of team building experiences. Our highly skilled facilitators design fun and competitive programs utilizing our Low Ropes Elements and Initiatives, our Treetops Adventure Park aerial challenge course and our Tree Quest tree climbing.

Our low ropes facilitated programs with experienced instructors focuses on active interactions designed for guests to step outside of their typical comfort zones. We highlight the potential strengths of team task completion and the challenges of processes such as communication, group decision making, and task sharing/delegation. Our program is regularly described as fun, engaging, challenging, sometimes frustrating, thought provoking, and personally enlightening. The group will walk away knowing more about themselves and each other and hopefully shed light on some ideas the team can develop and implement long term.

TreeQuest

Recreational tree climbing is a fun adventure activity where Guests use specialized gear and techniques to climb on one of our stately oak trees using a rope without negatively affecting the tree. Climbers “inch worm” their way up one of our eight climbs that range in height. TreeQuest allows Guests to enjoy an adventure activity in a controlled situation so that they can focus on the thrill of the activity and experience the environment they are in. Bring your group to come climb in the trees and experience life in the canopy.

  • 1.5 hours activity time
  • 8 people climb at a time, can be paired with team building activities
  • Age 7+ , Max weight of Guest is 265 lbs., Guest must be able to fit in harness

Twilight in the Treetops

Bring your group for a night climb at the Treetops Adventure Park. Watch the world transform from dusk to night while climbing in the trees. Trails will be illuminated to give climbing the obstacles a new perspective. Over 15,000 colored lights, plus colorful lasers sparkling on thousands of leaves, cables, rope, and platforms throughout the park will create a mystical tree climbing experience like you can’t imagine. The Black course is not open during the Twilight climbs.

KidZip

Kid Zip is one of America’s first zipline adventures designed for kids 4-10 years old. It includes 9 ziplines and 4 fun climbing elements in a park area. It is a self-guided tour except for an adult escort. The ziplines range from 50 feet to 250 feet long. They range in height from 25 feet high to ground level.

Took our (just turned) 8 year old today to the kid zip area and we had a great time! Reasonably priced and the staff... was very friendly. Small enough where our son wasn't too scared to get started but big enough to still challenge him to conquer some of his fears. Needless to say, by the end he was ziplining and letting go to put his hands out. There were other areas of the park we will definitely try next time we come to Asheville. Highly recommend!read more

Such an entertaining place!! Had a great time. The courses are challenging but doable and that’s what keeps it fun. The... only two downsides in my opinion were that 1. It only lasts 2 hours and starts from when you watch a video and do the whole harness thing, so you lose time to actually be up on the trees and 2. I’ve been to other adventure parks and they sell/rent gloves because the courses have elements where you need to hold onto a rope or cable. I asked for them but they don’t sell/rent or even suggest you to bring your own. My hands were really hurting afterwards. Anyways, I’d recommend it!!read more

A lot of fun for the whole family. The price for the adventure was cheap compared to other parks we've been to and the... instructors were great. Hated having to wear a mask though which took away from the fun. Every time my mask would slip off slightly I was scolded but I guess that's where were at right now. All in all it was well worth it. Our family came to the Asheville area from Virginia for a long weekend in an effort to change up our scenery and give... our kids something to look forward to because we had been under our stay-at-home order since mid-March. We decided to do the ziplining tour at Asheville Adventure Center because it gave us a chance to do something as a family outside and it was an activity the kids were really excited about. The folks at Asheville Adventure Center were amazing. Very friendly, with a great customer service attitude. We had our safety training with Jeff, whom I think is the owner, and our ziplining guides were Brandon and Donovan. They were terrific. Very low stress, but also very focused on safety and procedure. We had a very nice time talking with them over the two hours and we can't say enough about how much they added to our enjoyment of the experience. During the ziplining, we all had to wear facemasks because it was not possible to always stay six feet apart during time on the tree platforms but it was not too much of a bother and it actually ended up keeping my face warm because it was cool and breezy up in the trees. We highly recommend this company and will come back to do another activity with them the next time we come to Asheville!read more

My first time on a zipline and I loved it! I was especially impressed by the safety standards at the Adventure Center.... They took time for a training session to ensure all participants could demonstrate basic skills. ANY time a participation was up high, he/she was securely tethered by at least one (usually more) line to a strong cable. But our guides weren’t all business. Their jokes, stories, and little dance/demonstrations added greatly to the super fun experience. So go, zip, laugh and know you are in very safe hands.read more

I’ve gone to this place once every few months for the past two years. It is the best place to go for progression... without the pedaling. It closer than any real fun trail system to ride. Has endless features to session and a staff that is always kind and welcoming. My wife and I got jumping tips from one of the kids at their camp the other month and now we are starting to clear table tops!!!! They just have every increment of progression and everything is tucked away and separated enough that you aren’t constantly being watched by everyone while you are attempting to send but also close enough that if you fall and yell there is a better chance some one would hear you. Just spend your money here please and help make it even better. They’ve been putting in serious work.read more
