America Outdoors Association Annual Conference, Fall 2022
In November 2022, members of our leadership team from our Asheville Treetops Adventure Park and Education/Team Building programs attended the America Outdoors Association (AOA) conference in Orlando, Florida of which our company is a member. Also attending was our owner, Jeff Greiner, a former AOA Board Member for 10 years. Our Treetops Adventure Park Lead Guides, Jordan Hisamoto, Dan David, and Zoe Scott, and Youth Programs/Education Director, Lauren Brown, spent the week networking with other outdoor industry professionals and attending workshops geared toward supporting the longevity and success of the outdoor industry. And having a little fun at Harry Potter World!
The leadership team returned to the Adventure Center feeling inspired by these workshops and ready to spark positive changes in order to elevate the company into the 2023 season. They learned that the outdoor industry is consistently growing. The biggest takeaways that our team gathered from America Outdoors were the importance of our Guides’ health and well-being in sustaining a strong program, the steps we can take to be prepared in our day-to-day and long-term risk management practices, and the vital partnerships we must seek in order to make the outdoors a safe and welcome environment for a diverse population of staff and participants.
Since returning from the America Outdoors Conference, leadership has been working to plan and implement changes that ensure we continue to meet and exceed industry standards. The team has been working hard to create and maintain a work environment that highlights the success and support of our participants and staff team. They will continue to find intentional ways to create meaningful outdoor experiences moving into the 2023 adventure season.
