Get ready Asheville for our first Asheville Family Adventure Fest as we celebrate two things that make Asheville the great place it is. It’s time to celebrate Family & Adventure TOGETHER………Asheville style.
This quick afternoon burst of activity & fun is perfect for young and old. The aptly named Adventure Center of Asheville will be the festival host site with event production help from our friends at Asheville Plays (Another aptly named and fabulous local family business!) Think Spring Festival but overflowing with adventure activities for all ages!! Soooo, pack up the car, hop on a bike, lace up those hiking shoes, launch that kayak, strap on the waders (or however you get around!) AND don’t forget the kids for an afternoon at Asheville Family Adventure Fest.

Cost: $10 Festival pass (General Admission) | $25 Festival Combo Admission pass includes an Asheville Treetops Adventure Park sampler trail (9 challenge obstacles, 12’ in the trees, 1 continuous aerial trail)
Proceeds: 100% of proceeds from event passes & Treetops Adventure Park tickets will go to support autism services in Western NC.
Festival Activities
Tree Climbing
Gear up and experience the excitement and challenge of ascending ropes dangling from large tree branches of a 100+ year old oak tree climbing 5 to 20 feet up into the tree canopy.
Pump Track Mania
Take to the track and test your ability to “Pump” your way around our pump track. Demonstrations and basic instruction on pump track techniques provided each hour on the hour.
Kayak Splash Pool
Hop into a kayak and splash your way through the ups and downs of the man made/hand made turmoil of your kayak being moved around to simulate real whitewater rapids in our kayak pool. No paddling or kayak experience required. Level of excitement is catered to the youth participating. (Watch Kayak Roll demonstrations every hour on the half hour.)
The Ropes Mountain Bike Timed Ride
On your mark, get set, roll!! Check your time against other riders as you sprint your way around “The Ropes” beginners mountain bike trail (loop) at Kolo Bike Park on The Adventure Center Campus.
Boulderdash
This self-monitored bouldering wall will be open and available to climb and challenge your entire family on your own. (Climb/boulder at your own risk activity)
Asheville Treetops Adventure Park*
Only available during this special event, take to the trees at our renowned treetops challenge by conquering the popular Green Trail (10 unique swinging bridge, log, stone, & slide sections.) One time through this single trail during this event only. Never before offered!! $15/person donation required. Harness and other safety equipment included. Time slots assigned upon arrival at Festival Adventure Park check in desk. Estimated time (including wait & gear up) 45 minutes. Must arrive early enough to complete a time slot. Ages 4 and up, max weight 265 lbs. Ages 4-6 require a 1 to 1 paying adult escort.
Ball Toss-Water Dump Challenge
You choose your victim! Mom or Dad?! Sister or Brother?! Friend (Soon to be sworn enemy!!) Grab your three balls to toss at the target that dumps a bucket of water for a quick seated cool down that might, itself, become the most popular seat in the festival.
Lazy Days Hayride
Any day outdoors on the farm is made doubly good when a hayride is involved! This leisure ride around the festival area will help any family wind down and relax a few minutes between all the excitement and adventure. Limited periods of time might include story telling or a few songs strummed on the old guitar.
Pirate Ship
Step aboard and gather about yee maitees as you’ll sail the open sees seeking the safe landin and escape from the mysteries and dangers of the mighty pirate ship and secrets it holds within. Estimated time 15 minutes.
Darts and Blasters
Target shooting with a large variety of foam dart launchers, try as many as you like!
Giant Games
Try your hand at giant versions of family favorites: Jenga, Connect 4, Ladder Ball, and more
Face Painting

- Chimney Rock Park Naturalists (Observers: All ages)
- Naturalist sessions each hour on the hour.
- Watch and learn how the programs at Chimney Rock Park help protect and care for the wildlife we might expect to encounter while exploring the mountains, woodlands, and other habitats of their live native animals.
